Patrick Reetz graduated with a Master’s of Physical Therapy from Fresno State in 2006. He has been a Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist since 2010, and Board Certified Geriatric Specialist since 2022. He has worked at in-patient rehab facilities, outpatient neuro clinics, acute hospitals, aquatics, and home health, including Scripp's Hospital in San Diego CA, Rehab Institute of Santa Barbara, and Texas NeuroRehab in Austin. He has served in the DPT departments as adjunct faculty at University of St. Augustine and at Baylor University. He started Performance Recovery Mobile PT & Wellness in 2020 with his wife, Shi Reetz. His primary specialty is helping patients recover function and mobility after a stroke, although he loves helping all people with neurologic, vestibular, or imbalance issues to improve their quality of life. He loves the typical outdoorsy things most Austinites enjoy—Kayaking, camping, swimming at Barton Springs, being outside wherever the dogs can come, and bicycling/hiking/running as long as it's not 1000 degrees. He is also a semi-professional musician, having played with multiple local and touring bands in Austin and California, as well as a producer and audio engineer.
Shi Reetz has always found the most joy in helping older adults and those in need. Right out of high school, she worked for years as a CNA (certified nurse assistant) Hospice assistant and HHA in home health. She spent a few years away from healthcare working in sales, customer service, hospitality, and education for various places, but couldn't stay away from her calling to help people. Shi attended Austin Community College for a degree in Science and Health Kinesiology with a Bachelors degree in nursing. She is married to Patrick, and enjoys watching ALL the movies at Alamo Drafthouse, The Denver Broncos, PC and console gaming, cycling local trails, and raising fur babies to be model citizens. Shi is PRPT's Marketing Director and here to help you with any issues you may have.
Like a lot of us, Pablo is still figuring things out. Do I really like carrots? How fun and interesting is grass? Can I bite my sisters' tails? The answer is always YES. Pablo might be available to join you during a therapy session. His cuteness will help you recover!
Dr.Darryn Atkinson, PT, MPT, PhD, is a physical therapist, researcher, and educator focused on improving the lives of individuals with neurological injuries and their families. Darryn's clinical and research interests center on promoting neuroplasticity and recovery after neurological injury through the use of activity-based therapies. Darryn has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, specializing in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. In the fall of 2019, Dr. Atkinson and two colleagues began the Pediatric Neuroplasticity Program at The University of St. Augustine. This unique and innovative program provides activity-based locomotor training for children in the community with non-progressive neurological conditions. As of 2023, it remains as one of the only clinics of its kind. Darryn has been an assistant professor at the University of St. Augustine (USA) since March of 2019. He grew up in the Austin area, and enjoys playing and watching sports. If we're being honest, he's a fan of any kind of competition! He also enjoys live music and spending time in nature or on the water, usually in the company of friends and family.
